Frangipani Dreams“I want to give people hope and show them that dreams can come true,” – Moy Sweetman.
The inspirational founder of ‘Frangipani Dreams’has given new meaning to the word “hope” though her great passion and respect for life in all its forms. It was during an agonising four-and-a-half year wait in hospital seeking a kidney donor that Moy’s passion for life flourished and began to developed into what today is known as ‘Frangipani Dreams’. “During this period in my life I had a lot of time to think about what I would like to do if I was given at second chance at life,” – Moy Sweetman. Frangipani Dreams is an Australian based organisation located on the Sunshine coast, Gold coast and Harvey bay, that is dedicated to helping Families, the elderly, the lonely, people with terminal illness, and those experiencing financial and personal hardship in many forms. It is through much generosity, compassion and community awareness that Frangipani Dreams reminds us that life isn’t just about ‘us’, that “Through the thoughts and actions of Loving Kindness, Unity and Compassion we can make a positive impact on our World.”This project receives no source of funding from the government. All finances come from fundraising activities and the donations of food and goods by the local community. “At the end of the day, it’s all about bringing people together to give hope and unconditional love from one human being to another,” – Moy Sweetman. Hampers go out to the families in the Sunshine Coast Community - elderly people in respite centres or nursing homes, clients of United Synergies Ltd (formerly Noosa Youth Service), Coolum Youth Service and various Emergency Relief agencies, rape crisis services, mental health services at Nambour and Mountain Creek, patients of the Sunshine Coast HIV clinic, Noosa and Nambour hospital oncology wards and dialysis units and Sunshine Coast Rehabilitation Clinics. |
